About me
Ingrid Botezatu is a Romanian-Canadian actress and multidisciplinary artist based in Tiohtià (Montreal). Driven by a lifelong passion for performance and storytelling, she pursued her acting studies at John Abbott College, where she brought a wide range of characters to life, including Gretel in The Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon, Abbie in Jekyll & Hyde, Joan Crust in The Weight of Ants, and the Herald in The Glass Mountain.
Throughout her training, Ingrid expanded her artistic practice by exploring various creative disciplines, including puppetry, movement improvisation, and on-camera acting. Her dedication, talent, and unwavering commitment to her craft were recognized upon graduation when she received the prestigious Pamela Montgomery Award, honoring her exceptional work ethic and passion for the performing arts.
Ingrid has had the privilege of training and collaborating with respected industry professionals such as Edouard Fontaine, Jason Howell, Julia Pye, Mady King, Erin Yardley-Jones, Zachary Fraser, and Trevor Barrette. These experiences have helped shape her artistic voice and deepen her understanding of performance as a powerful tool for connection and expression.
As an artist, Ingrid is particularly drawn to stories that reflect contemporary social realities, challenge perspectives, and explore questions of identity, belonging, and human resilience. She is passionate about creating meaningful work that resonates with audiences and sparks thoughtful conversation.
